iCloud Mail can forward all incoming mail or use rules to forward selected messages. Use a rule when you want to limit what Mermail AI can process.

Prerequisites

  • A Mermail mailbox address.
  • An active iCloud Mail account.
  • Access to iCloud Mail in a browser.

Forward selected messages

1

Open iCloud Mail settings

Sign in to iCloud Mail, click the settings button above the mailbox list, and choose Settings.
2

Open rules

Select Rules, then add a rule.
3

Define the messages

Choose criteria such as sender, recipient, or subject that identify mail you want Mermail to process.
4

Choose forwarding

Set the rule action to forward the message to your Mermail mailbox address.
5

Save and test

Save the rule and send a new matching message.
Each iCloud Mail forwarding rule can use one forwarding address.

Forward all messages

1

Open Mail Forwarding

In iCloud Mail settings, select Mail Forwarding.
2

Enable forwarding

Select Forward my email to and enter the Mermail mailbox address.
3

Keep the iCloud copy

Leave Delete messages after forwarding cleared unless you intentionally want iCloud to remove its copy.
Deleting messages after forwarding removes the provider copy. Keeping it gives you an independent record in iCloud Mail and makes human takeover easier.

Test the setup

Send a new message that matches the rule. Confirm that it appears in both iCloud Mail and Mermail. If you created a selective rule, send a second excluded message and confirm that it remains only in iCloud Mail.

Stop forwarding

  • Delete or disable the selective rule in iCloud Mail settings.
  • For account-wide forwarding, open Mail Forwarding and clear Forward my email to.

Human takeover

If you reply to a forwarded thread directly in iCloud Mail, Mermail treats the entire thread as human-managed and permanently stops AI processing for it.
