Product and mailboxes

Mermail gives AI agents their own email inboxes. An agent can receive email, search conversations, summarize threads, prepare replies, and work with connected tools inside a mailbox.
Mermail creates a separate email identity for an agent. You do not need to give the agent access to your personal Gmail or Outlook inbox. Each mailbox keeps its messages, drafts, agent conversations, settings, and automations within its workspace. If you configure auto forwarding, Mermail can process only the messages delivered to its mailbox. It does not receive direct access to your provider account or messages that your forwarding rules exclude. See Auto-forward email to Mermail.
A direct reply from Gmail, Outlook, or another original provider is a human takeover. Mermail permanently stops AI processing for the entire email thread, including later replies.
Yes. You can claim a hosted address such as [email protected] from the Mermail console. Hosted usernames must be 5 to 30 characters and follow the mailbox naming rules.
Yes, on a plan that includes custom domains. Use a dedicated subdomain such as mail.example.com so you do not disrupt email delivery for your root domain. You must publish and verify the required DNS records before you can create a mailbox on that subdomain. See Custom domains.

Agents and automation

The agent can search messages, summarize threads, draft replies, and help triage mailbox work. It can also use supported connected tools when you enable them. On replies, it follows the same Reply / Reply All recipient rules as the product UI (latest inbound). For a new email, it asks for To when you only provide Cc or Bcc. See Mailbox agent.
The built-in email-response triager saves its reply as a draft for you to review. It does not send the draft automatically. The triager also avoids responding to messages that appear to be automated or bulk email.
Mermail exposes triggers for received or sent email and for supported Google Calendar events. Runtime behavior varies by trigger. Review the current limitations before creating an automation in Task triage.
Mermail supports connected tools through Composio, including Google Calendar context and calendar triggers. Gmail and Outlook toolkits are disabled for the mailbox-agent path because email stays inside Mermail’s mailbox model. You can also connect a mailbox to Telegram for notifications.

Data, security, and plans

Standard hosted workspaces store full message bodies and attachments as Harbor-backed blobs instead of plain database text. Storage access is configured and protected at the workspace level. Customer-controlled storage requirements are evaluated separately for qualified Enterprise accounts. See Security and privacy.
Mermail is designed to support GDPR customer workflows and SOC 2 Type 2 vendor security reviews. This readiness does not mean Mermail has completed a formal certification, audit, or attestation. Mermail does not currently claim GDPR certification or a completed SOC 2 Type 2 attestation. Review Security and privacy for the current position.
The standard hosted service retains mailbox content so you can use message history, search, attachments, drafts, and automations. Mermail evaluates customer-controlled storage and zero data retention requirements for qualified Enterprise accounts, but you should not treat a workspace as zero data retention unless Mermail confirms its scope in writing.
Limits apply to each workspace and cover mailboxes, members, email quota, storage, and custom domains. The Free plan includes hosted mailboxes. Paid plans add higher limits and custom-domain support. See Plans for the current limits.
