# 24/7 Stock Investing

> Install the xStocks skill, connect Mermail and PayBox, and complete one reviewed USDC-to-xStock purchase on Solana.

Use the `mermail-xstocks-desk` skill to find an evidence-backed xStock and
prepare one reviewed purchase through Mermail Agent Wallet. The skill uses the
published xStocks catalog to identify the product and its Solana token. PayBox
then provides the current quote, approval, signing, and request status.

An xStock is a tokenized tracker certificate linked to an underlying stock or
fund. It is not a share held directly in a brokerage account. Product identity
verification also does not guarantee liquidity, eligibility, price, or
execution.

Start with a direct request such as:

`10 USDC` is an example. PayBox may apply a different minimum order, fee, or
eligibility requirement when it prepares the live quote.

## Before you begin

You need:

* A Mermail workspace and mailbox.
* An AI client that supports Agent Skills and MCP OAuth.
* The `mermail-xstocks-desk` skill installed in that client.
* The default full Mermail MCP connection at
  `https://console.mermail.app/mcp`, authenticated with OAuth.
* An active PayBox connection for the workspace.
* An eligible Solana wallet with enough USDC and SOL for any network fee.

<Warning>
  USDC balances are network-specific. USDC on Base is not USDC on Solana. The
  Mermail Funding checkout currently funds an eligible Base wallet, so it does
  not by itself prepare a Solana wallet for this xStocks workflow.

## Set up the skill and wallet

<Steps>
  <Step title="Install the xStocks skill">
    If you use Codex, run this in your terminal to install the skill for your
    user account:

    For another Agent Skills-compatible client, run the Skills CLI in the
    environment used by that client:

    ```

    Start a new AI session after installation. In Codex, ask it to use
    `mermail-xstocks-desk` for your xStock purchase. If Codex cannot find the
    skill, check that the command completed and start a new session. See
    [Skills](/ai/skills) for other client-specific setup.

  <Step title="Connect the full Mermail MCP profile">
    Add `https://console.mermail.app/mcp` to your AI client, choose OAuth, sign
    in to Mermail, and select the workspace that owns the mailbox and wallet.

    API-key connections and the `agent-inbox` profile cannot expose Agent
    Wallet tools. If you previously connected one of those profiles, add the
    default `/mcp` OAuth connection and start a new chat after authentication.

  <Step title="Connect PayBox">
    The workspace owner opens a mailbox in
    [Mermail Console](https://console.mermail.app), selects **Agent Wallet**,
    and connects PayBox. Confirm that **PayBox connection** shows **ACTIVE**.

    Current workspace members can use the live PayBox tools through the
    owner's active connection. If the connection needs repair, the owner must
    reconnect it in Mermail.

  <Step title="Check the Solana wallet">
    In **Agent Wallet**, verify the intended Solana wallet and its USDC balance.
    Keep a small SOL balance available for network fees when the provider
    requires it.

    If more than one eligible Solana wallet exists and no saved default is
    returned, the assistant asks which wallet to use. Selecting a wallet does
    not submit a purchase.

## Buy one xStock

<Steps>
  <Step title="Name the product and amount">
    Give the assistant one exact product and a USDC amount:

    The skill resolves the exact product through the published catalog and
    checks its current Solana identity. If a name matches multiple products,
    select one from the returned choices before continuing.

  <Step title="Choose a wallet when asked">
    The assistant uses a provider-declared default wallet or the only eligible
    Solana wallet. When several eligible wallets remain, reply with the exact
    wallet shown in the list.

    Check that the selected wallet holds USDC on Solana. A balance shown for
    another network cannot fund this purchase.

  <Step title="Review the PayBox terms">
    PayBox prepares the live swap. Review the xStock name, USDC amount, Solana
    wallet, fees, expected output, and minimum received in the PayBox interface.

    If the quote expires or its terms change, review the refreshed terms before
    approving them. Catalog verification identifies the token; the live PayBox
    response determines whether the transaction can proceed.

  <Step title="Approve and sign when required">
    Complete the approval, passkey, or signing step shown by PayBox. If your AI
    client cannot render the PayBox interface, open the single authenticated
    Mermail signing handoff returned for that request.

    Keep the conversation open. Do not ask the assistant to create another
    purchase while the original request is waiting for a signature or provider
    result.

    After signing, use this prompt:

    The assistant checks the existing provider request. Treat **pending** as
    still processing and **uncertain** as a request whose authoritative result
    is unavailable. The purchase is complete only when PayBox returns a
    confirmed terminal result.

## Explore products before buying

You can ask for a short list without opening the wallet or creating a swap.

### Browse a category

The assistant matches your wording to categories returned by the live catalog
and shows products whose category assignment has evidence. If the category is
ambiguous, choose one of the catalog categories it offers. A category with no
verified assignments can return no products.

### Browse familiar names

```

The assistant returns up to five familiar-name products that it can match
uniquely in the live catalog. This is a discovery list, not a market ranking or
investment recommendation.

Neither prompt creates a transaction. After reviewing the list, name one exact
product and an exact USDC amount when you want to continue.

## Understand the status

| Status                  | What it means                                                                                            | What to do                                                            |

| `review_required`       | PayBox has terms for you to review.                                                                      | Check the amount, wallet, fees, and minimum received.                 |
| `blocked`               | Verification or a required provider capability stopped the flow before an execution request was created. | Follow the returned reason; do not replace the token or provider.     |
| `pending`               | The request is waiting for review, signing, or provider processing.                                      | Finish the shown handoff, then check the same request.                |
| `uncertain`             | A request may exist, but its authoritative status is unavailable.                                        | Reconcile the original request later; do not submit another purchase. |
| `confirmed`             | PayBox confirmed the terminal result.                                                                    | Check the Solana wallet and transaction details.                      |

## Troubleshooting

    Confirm that the client uses `https://console.mermail.app/mcp` with OAuth.
    API keys and the `agent-inbox` profile do not expose PayBox. Reconnect the
    full profile, complete workspace consent, and open a new chat so the client
    refreshes its tool catalog.

  <Accordion title="PayBox is not connected">
    Open the returned Mermail handoff. The workspace owner connects or
    reauthorizes PayBox from **Agent Wallet**. Return to the same conversation
    after the connection shows **ACTIVE**.

  <Accordion title="The wallet has USDC, but the assistant reports insufficient funds">
    Check the network shown next to the balance. This workflow requires USDC on
    Solana. USDC on Base or another network is a separate asset balance. After
    the intended Solana wallet is funded, ask the assistant to refresh the
    portfolio once and continue the same product and amount.

    More than one eligible Solana wallet exists and PayBox did not identify a
    saved default. Reply with one exact wallet from the list. Wallet autonomous
    permission does not make that wallet the default.

    Read the reason returned by the assistant. A halted product, identity
    conflict, unsupported provider requirement, or unavailable dependency can
    stop the flow. Do not substitute a similarly named token or send USDC to a
    token mint.

    Use a returned invocation-specific Mermail signing handoff when available.
    A blank or waiting PayBox frame is not confirmation that the transaction
    was signed. Keep the original request and do not create a replacement.

    Ask the assistant to check the original request. A timeout can happen after
    submission, so retrying the purchase could create a duplicate. Wait for an
    authoritative provider result before deciding whether to start a new
    purchase.
