# Forward Yahoo Mail to Mermail

> Configure Yahoo Mail forwarding to a Mermail mailbox when the feature is available.

Yahoo Mail forwarding is available with Yahoo Mail Plus and is not available in every locale. The setting may not appear in your account.

## Prerequisites

* A Yahoo Mail Plus subscription.
* A Mermail mailbox address.
* A locale and account where Yahoo exposes automatic forwarding.

## Enable forwarding

    In Yahoo Mail, click **Settings** and then **More Settings**.

  <Step title="Choose the mailbox">
    Click **Mailboxes** and select the primary mailbox account.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the destination">
    Under **Forwarding** or **Auto-forwarding**, enter the Mermail mailbox address.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Verify the address">
    Click **Verify**, then open the message delivered to Mermail and follow its instructions.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Test new mail">
    Send a new message to the Yahoo address and confirm that it appears in Mermail.
  </Step>

<Warning>
  Yahoo’s published forwarding setup is account-wide. Do not assume selective forwarding is available unless your current Yahoo Mail interface provides supported rule conditions for it.

If the account contains messages that should not reach AI, use a dedicated Yahoo address for the Mermail workflow or choose a provider that supports conditional forwarding.

## Stop forwarding

Return to **Settings** → **More Settings** → **Mailboxes**, select the primary mailbox, and remove or disable the forwarding address.

## Human takeover

If you reply to a forwarded thread directly in Yahoo Mail, Mermail treats the entire thread as human-managed and permanently stops AI processing for it.

## Troubleshooting

| Problem                        | What to check                                                      |
| ------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Forwarding is not listed       | Confirm your Mail Plus subscription and locale availability        |
| Forwarding is not active       | Complete the verification instructions delivered to Mermail        |
| Private messages reach Mermail | Disable account-wide forwarding and use a dedicated source mailbox |
| New mail is delayed            | Check both Yahoo and Mermail spam folders before retrying          |
