# Forward Lark Mail to Mermail

> Enable Lark Mail forwarding permissions and forward selected messages to a Mermail mailbox.

Lark Mail administrators must allow auto-forwarding before members can configure it. After permission is enabled, a member can forward all new messages or create auto filters for selected messages.

## Prerequisites

* A Mermail mailbox address.
* A Lark Mail member or public mailbox.
* A primary administrator or an administrator with Email permissions.
* Organization policy that permits sending mail to external recipients.

  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Save the permission change.
  </Step>

<Tip>
  Limit permission scope to the mailboxes that need Mermail. This reduces the number of accounts that can create external forwarding rules.
</Tip>

</Steps>

Lark allows up to two addresses for account-wide auto-forwarding.

<Info>
  For a public mailbox, switch to that mailbox before following the member steps. Administrator permission must include the public mailbox.
</Info>

## Test the setup

Send a new matching message. Lark does not forward existing messages, spam, messages addressed to a mailing list destination, or certain automatic replies.

## Stop forwarding

* For selected messages, delete the Mermail destination from **Auto filters**.
* For all messages, return to **Settings** → **Email** → **Auto-forward** → **Set Up Now**, then turn off **Enable auto-forward** for the address.

## Human takeover

If you reply to a forwarded thread directly in Lark Mail, Mermail treats the entire thread as human-managed and permanently stops AI processing for it.

## Troubleshooting

| Problem                             | What to check                                                        |
| ----------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Members cannot configure forwarding | Confirm that an administrator enabled the permission for their scope |
| External addresses are rejected | Check organization restrictions on sending to external recipients |
| Old or spam messages are missing | Lark forwards only eligible new messages and excludes spam |
| The rule is inactive | Complete destination verification in Mermail |
